The oral doctoral examination of Yifang Zhang, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 9:45 a.m.in the Carnegie Library, Room 200. Zhang’s advisor is Professor Pinyuen Chen. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Leonid Kovalev, Justin Ko, and Pierre Yves Gaudreau Lamarre. Professor Lael Schooler will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “Sequential Subset Selection from Binomial Populations: Early Stopping, Randomized Calibration, and Adaptive Elimination.”
